How does 1,000 Books before Kindergarten work?

·   Register Online HereYou can register your child for the 1,000 Books program online or in your local CCPL branch anytime between birth and kindergarten.

·   Track Your Reading: Log every book you read with your child here or on a paper log picked up from your local CCPL branch.

·   Pick up Your Prizes: Come into the library every time you and your child have read 100 books to receive a sticker to take home and a sticker to add to our mural. You'll receive a notification from READSquared when you have a prize waiting to be picked up.

·   Hit 1,000 Books and Keep on Reading: When you and your child reach 1,000 books, your child will earn a certificate of completion and a place on our Readers Wall of Fame. This is a great accomplishment, but don't stop! Keep reading with your child daily for even more benefits.

How can we read 1,000 Books?

It's easier than you think!

Put reading first! Spend 20 minutes a day reading to your child. Make it fun and exciting, and spend rewarding time together.

If you read just 1 book a day, you will have read 365 books in a year. That is 730 books in two years, and 1,095 books in just three years!
